Bro. Chaz was a blessing helping EVERYWHERE, after Youth camp.

Kids Crusade would not be the same without him. BUT.

 He preached an outstanding message

"Running And Leaping" | Psalm 18:29 | While he was here, and listen on You Tube. You'll be glad you did!

This time I was riveted by an 'ODE' to Bro. Michael Hensley, written by his wife. I thought it was really comical, so I asked her if I could share with you all. See what you think!

’Twas the night before church, and all through the house, Everyone was relaxing, except my dear spouse.

Michael’s clothes were all ready, his Bible in place, Because being on time to church is apparently a disgrace. 😂

“Sunday school starts at 9:30,” I calmly explain.

Michael says, “Right, so we’ll leave at eight.”

Sir, that makes no sense to my brain. 🤣

Sunday morning comes, and I’m wrangling the crew, Trying to get everybody dressed, with a missing sock or two.

“Where are my shoes?”

“Mom, fix my hair!”

“I don’t like this shirt!”

“My other shoe isn’t there!”

And Michael’s by the door, Bible in hand,

Fully dressed and ready, like this was all carefully planned.

“Y’all about ready?”

NO, MICHAEL. We just got out of bed. 😂

Half of us aren’t dressed, and they still have not been fed.

But off we will go, ridiculously early, of course,

Because being ON TIME to church would cause Michael actual remorse.

We’ll pull in while the parking lot’s still empty and bare...

But praise the Lord, Michael can’t say we were late getting there. 🤣

IF you have never thought about the words Jesus spoke after he called into the grave, and said "LAZERUS COME FORTH"

THEN he said "Loose him and let him go"

Pastor Matthew preached one of the most outstanding messages about 'letting them go' don't keep someone bound up, but we have the commandment from Jesus himself. It was so powerful.

again, you can go to the you tube channel and watch the message.

Bro. Joe/ sis. Mary Porter

Always quiet(except when he's teasing someone). Staying in the background; these 2 members are someone you may not know much of, so let me expound!

Faithful to have the doors unlocked and ready for church members. Bro Joe is there.

Sis Mary helps take care of bereaved families, by organizing the meals.

Bro Joe was born in Hope Ar and sis Mary, Deport Tx. They moved to Texarkana in 2001 and have made Faith Assembly their church home.

He was born into a family of 6 siblings. 2 are still alive and sis Mary has him beat a little. With 4 brothers and 6 sisters!

They raised 3 sons; which gave them 2 grand children and now 2 great grand children. BLESSED beyond measure.

Bro Joe was saved in 1965 and sis Mary in 1961. Both were raised in church, so it was a natural choice to become members at Faith Assembly!

Being a mechanic by trade; broJoe kept it all running smoothly. (No wonder he's great with making sure the doors are unlocked and relocked for every service)

She worked in a furniture plant. Which makes all the sense in the world; that Sis.Mary would be organized and willing wherever the church may have a need.

When I asked what is the "most rewarding part of being a deacon" he replied- being able to serve the Lord in whatever capacity He needs.

The names that came quickly to mind for great leaders included Bro. Mitchell ; bro. Brankel,  As well as Myrtle Haggard.

All had great influence and were great mentors to the Porters.

Favorite past time would be MUSIC.

We are exceptionally fortunate to have the Porters be the "church porters"
